Every corporation subject to the Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA) must file an annual return with Corporations Canada every year. You have to file an annual return if your corporation’s legal status with Corporations Canada is “active.”
An Initial Return listing the names of all the directors of the corporation, their address for service and date they were elected/appointed or ceased to be a director, must be filed within 60 days from the date of incorporation, amalgamation or continuation into Ontario.
In order to access the Ontario Business Registry, you must get a company key. A company key allows you to make changes to your corporation file such as address change, director change, and filings with the Ministry of the set jurisdiction.
